HÀO KHÍ ĐÔNG A: Ý tưởng tập trung làm nổi bật chiến công của tướng Trần Hưng Đạo và quân dân nhà Trần trong chiến thắng Bạch Đằng, đánh bại thủy quân của nhà Nguyên năm 1288. Quân Trần dùng cọc gỗ chôn dưới sông để phá thuyền của giặc. Khí thế chiến đấu của quân dân nhà Trần còn được gọi là  “Hào khí Đông A” Hình ảnh đoàn thuyền chiến của nhà Trần được cách điệu cho thiết kế các trụ chính của cầu Trần Hưng Đạo. Hình ảnh thuyền còn nhắc ta nhớ đến hình ảnh thuyền trên trống đồng Đông Sơn, tinh hoa của nghệ thuật dân tộc. Đó là sự kết nối giữa quá khứ và hiện tại để hướng tới tương lai vươn ra biển lớn, sánh vai với các cường quốc năm châu. Kết cấu cầu dây văng phù hợp cho thiết kế cầu kết nối hai bờ sông tạo hình ảnh hào hùng của chiến thuyền nhà Trần mang tính thẩm mỹ cao về mặt tạo hình và tinh thần dân tộc Việt Nam bất khuất. Về mặt kết cấu, cầu dây văng cho phép vượt nhịp cầu lớn, tạo hình đẹp và hiệu quả về mặt đầu tư. Phương án này có tầng trên dành cho xe ô tô, tầng dưới cho xe máy và khu đi bộ công cộng. Cây cầu không chỉ là một công trình biểu tượng mà còn là một “nơi chốn” – một điểm đến dành cho người dân thủ đô tham quan, và dự các sự kiện công cộng như đường sách, âm nhạc, triển lãm nghệ thuật, ngắm cảnh, tập thể dục, đạp xe đạp và gặp gỡ, tụ họp cuối tuần.

In terms of structure, the cable-stayed bridge allows to cross a large span, beautiful shape and effective in terms of investment. This option has an upper floor for cars, a lower floor for motorbikes and a public pedestrian area. The bridge is not only a symbolic work but also a “place” – a destination for the people of the capital to visit and attend public events such as book street, music, art exhibition, sightseeing, exercise, cycling and weekend get-togethers.
